If you haven't heard our Children's Discovery Day events are back and running now that the weather is warming up! New programs are announced on our website and Facebook weekly. These are a great opportunity to get outside with the family and learn something new.
Our garden team has been busy “potting up” pansy seedlings in the greenhouse! Potting up is a technique that allows a seedling to grow big, strong, and healthy. As the seedlings grow, they become too large for their small starting cells, where their roots can become bound as they search for more room and nutrients. This can be a stressful time for the plant and is detrimental for its health. ⠀
⠀
This is the perfect time to pot up the seedling and place it into a larger container where it has the space to spread its roots more comfortably and focus on growing into a happy, healthy plant!
