Conventional soil tests are designed to guide inorganic fertilizer applications for specific crops, yields, and soil types. But what if your goal is to build fertility through organic soil amendments and a deeper understanding of soil biology?
Join us for an evening workshop exploring alternative soil testing methods, including the Haney Test and Phospholipid Fatty Acid (PLFA) analysis. These tools offer valuable insight into soil microbial communities, nutrient cycling, and overall soil health. We will walk through how to administer these tests, discuss associated costs, and examine how results can inform practical, on-farm management decisions.
As part of the workshop, participants will visit the Ley Field, Greenacres’ production garden, to see soil health principles in action and connect testing insights to real-world application
This workshop is geared toward farmers and producers, though all are welcome to attend.
Pizza will be provided. Registration is limited.
Please RSVP to reserve your spot.
