Greenacres Homeschool Equine Days

Tuesday, January 27 | Wednesday, January 28 | Wednesday, February 11| Thursday, February 12

Join the Greenacres Equine Education team for our second Homeschool Equine Days Series! This two-part learning experience gives homeschool families the opportunity to explore both Science and Math concepts through engaging, hands-on activities with Greenacres horses.

Participants can choose to attend one or both programs, with two date options for each. We strongly encourage families to experience both programs—but please select only one date per program when registering.

Each session combines classroom learning with interactive exploration in the barn and arena, connecting key academic principles to the real-world care, training, and management of horses at Greenacres.

Learners aged 8 and older are welcome. Due to safety considerations, younger children and siblings are not able to attend.

Program Schedule and Descriptions

Program 1 – Horse Force

Dates: Tuesday, January 27 or Wednesday, February 11
Time: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Horses are acted upon by forces and exert forces on other objects. We will explore different types of forces found in our equine center and gain hands-on experience manipulating and measuring them.

Program 2 – Equine Anatomy

Dates: Wednesday, January 28 or Thursday, February 12
Time: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Horses, ponies, and drafts, oh my! Come explore different equine anatomies and how they affect everything from digestion to movement rates.

How Does This Program Differ from a Typical Greenacres Homeschool Field Trip?

The Greenacres Education Team is offering this special opportunity for homeschool families to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning together.

We’ll select the topic and prepare all program materials—your only task is to register and show up ready for fun and learning!

This flexible format allows individual family units to participate at the Equestrian Center without the need to organize a large group field trip.

Tickets and Registration

All participants must register in advance—space is limited!

      • Tickets are free, thanks to the generosity of Greenacres Foundation.
