Family Discovery Time: Seeds and Soil

Come experience soil and seeds at Nippert Barn! As the Garden awakens this spring, dig into the wonders of planting, explore seeds, and see what’s sprouting! Discover what’s growing, hiding, and coming to life in the soil at Nippert Barn.

Family Discovery Time is a child-focused educational program on a selected topic for children and their families to experience Greenacres Farm at Nippert Barn. Literacy and hands-on experiences will be combined to cultivate curiosity and discovery on the farm. Please dress to be out on the farm in our pastures, gardens, and natural areas. We may encounter mud and evidence of our livestock. 

Please note, the activities are targeted for children ages 5 and up. Younger siblings should be able to enjoy the experience with more adult help.

    • All attendees must register in advance
    • No pets are allowed (ADA Certified Service Animals only)
    • Adult tickets are available and tickets for children (ages 5-17) are only available for purchase with a participating adult
    • Nippert Barn is a smoke free facility. Smoking of any kind is not allowed indoors or outdoors, near the venue
