Reserve your turkey for Thanksgiving 2026!
We’re excited to welcome you back for another season of Greenacres Thanksgiving turkeys. Our birds are humanely raised on the pastures of Cincinnati, where they enjoy fresh air, sunshine, and plenty of space to roam. This results in a healthier, more flavorful, and nutritious turkey for your holiday table.
At Greenacres, raising turkeys is about more than producing food for the Thanksgiving table. Our pasture-raised flock is part of a working farm where agriculture, education, and conservation come together, giving us opportunities to care for the land, provide meaningful learning experiences, and demonstrate a thoughtful approach to raising livestock.
Now it’s time to reserve yours and support the work happening at Greenacres.

A note about feathers
The turkey you typically buy at the grocery store has been bred to have white feathers, a genetic trait selected so feathers aren’t as visible after butchering. These type of selective breeding practices can come at the expense of overall turkey health and flavor. Choosing turkeys with genetic traits closer to their wild ancestors means that our turkeys have bronze feathers, but are better suited to thrive outdoors and have great flavor. These bronze feathers may occasionally be visible on the turkey you bring home – simply remove before cooking.

Will I need to wait for my turkey?
You may need to wait just a few minutes while we gather your order. We appreciate your patience as our team gets your turkey ready.
How are the turkeys raised?
All of our turkeys are pasture-raised right here at Greenacres, cared for with respect and in harmony with the land.
Why can’t I choose a specific weight for my turkey?
Because our turkeys are raised outdoors on pasture, their sizes vary from year to year. Once they return from the butcher, we sort them by size into weight brackets: small, medium, large, and extra-large. We’ll do our very best to provide you with a bird close to your requested size, but we cannot guarantee an exact weight.
What size turkey do I need?
As a general guide, a small turkey feeds 4–6 people, a medium feeds 7–10, a large feeds 11–14, and an extra-large feeds 15 or more. We’re big fans of leftovers, so we recommend choosing a size that leaves you with plenty to share.
How do I pay my $20 deposit?
The easiest way to pay your deposit is online when you make your reservation with a credit card. You can also stop by the Farm Market and pay in person with cash, credit, or your CSA card.
What is your process for filling turkey orders?
Turkeys are reserved in the order we receive deposits. Customers who complete their reservations early will have the best chance at their preferred turkey size.
Can I make changes to my order?
Of course. Please call the Farm Market at 513-891-4227 ext. 1 or email farm@green-acres.org, and we’ll be glad to assist. Please keep in mind that changes may not always be possible.
Deposit and Cancellations
Your $20 deposit per turkey goes toward the final price when you pick up your turkey.
If you cancel 24 hours or more before your pickup window, we’ll refund your deposit in full. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your pickup window will be reviewed case by case. Please call the Farm Market as soon as you know you need to cancel.
What if turkeys sell out?
Once we sell out, you can add your name to our waitlist. If turkeys become available, we’ll contact customers on the waitlist by email.
How should I store my turkey?
We recommend storing your turkey on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator, where it’s coldest. Your turkey should be cooked or frozen by November 29. If you’re not planning to eat your turkey by then, no problem! We can freeze it for you, upon request.
Do I need to prepare this turkey differently because it’s fresh and pasture-raised?
No special steps are needed. Your turkey will be fresh, so no thawing is required. Cook as you would any other turkey. For a basic oven roast, plan on about 13 minutes per pound at 350°F, until the thickest portion reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
Can I pre-order produce for Thanksgiving?
We will not be accepting produce pre-orders during turkey pickup days. However, a list of what will be available in the Market will be posted two weeks before the first pickup timeslot so you can plan your holiday shopping.
Can I pre-order other meats for Thanksgiving?
Hams will not be available for pre-order, but they will be available for purchase in the Market. Other available meats, including pork, beef, lamb, and chicken, will be listed on our Farm Market Availability page.
