About the Event
The Aeolian Pipe Organ, installed in the Greenacres Arts Center in 1926, is a beautiful instrument with a fascinating history! Join us as Christopher Holman, Organist and Musicologist, provides an evening of education and entertainment. Learn about the history of the instrument, and enjoy a concert from this rarely-heard treasure within the Arts Center! The program will consist of a mix of famous orchestral works transcribed for organ and solo organs, such as Grieg’s In the Hall of the Mountain King, excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen, Saint-Saëns’s The Swan and Danse macabre, and solo organ works by Vierne and Gigout. Program is subject to change, at the discretion of the artist.
