Greenacres Arts Education

INTERNSHIP

Interning with the Arts Education Team

Greenacres Foundation offers a unique, one-year paid internship with our Arts Education Team, providing aspiring educators the opportunity to immerse themselves in creative, hands-on learning experiences. Interns actively contribute to field trip programs, after-school activities, and summer camps centered around the visual and performing arts.

Set within a historic home, curated gardens, and preserved woodlands, this internship offers a meaningful opportunity to engage with children through small-group instruction in an inspiring natural setting. If you’re passionate about arts education and interested in gaining practical experience in non-traditional, immersive teaching, we invite you to apply.

Each year, we select one intern, and applications open every April.

Who can apply?

This internship is ideal for individuals interested in beginning or further developing a career in arts education. Applicants may have backgrounds in visual arts, performing arts, art history, or museum studies, and should demonstrate a genuine passion for creative learning and working with children. The Arts Education Team seeks individuals who are curious, collaborative, and self-motivated—those who are eager to grow as educators in a dynamic, hands-on learning environment.

We are committed to providing meaningful experiences for students through programs that integrate the visual and performing arts. If you are enthusiastic about teaching, enjoy working as part of a team, and are excited by the opportunity to make an impact through the arts, we encourage you to apply.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. While Greenacres does not provide housing, this is a paid internship and includes medical and dental benefits, along with paid holidays.

What to Expect

As an intern with the Greenacres Arts Education Team, you will become part of a dedicated group of professionals who are passionate about the arts, education, and the Greenacres mission. Throughout the one-year internship, you will receive mentorship and training in visual and performing arts content, informal education practices, program development, nature connection, and career readiness within a nonprofit setting.

The internship is based at our Indian Hill campus, with occasional travel required to support programming at our other education sites: Miami Township Clermont County (OH), Lewis Township (OH), and Oldenburg (IN). Flexibility is essential, as schedules and programming vary seasonally and according to educational needs.

You will be immersed in the daily operations of an innovative education team, gaining valuable experience in both planning and delivering engaging, arts-based lessons to a wide range of student groups.

Teaching at Greenacres

As a member of the Arts Education Team, you will play an active role in delivering high-quality, hands-on programming in the visual and performing arts. This includes assisting with school field trips, after-school enrichment, and summer camp sessions. Interns work closely with students in small groups, helping to create meaningful, memorable experiences in our historic home, curated gardens, and surrounding natural spaces.

By the end of your internship, you will have developed a strong foundation in arts-based education and have the opportunity to share your experience and personal teaching philosophy in a presentation to the Greenacres staff. This capstone moment allows you to reflect on your growth and contributions while preparing for the next step in your professional journey.
