Inspiring the Next Generation of Educators

Greenacres offers a unique, year-long internship opportunity within our Education Department, with placements available in two dynamic divisions: Arts Education and Environmental Education. These full-time, paid positions include benefits and provide an immersive experience in informal education at a mission-driven nonprofit.

As an Education Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience developing and delivering engaging, student-centered programs aligned with K–12 state and national learning standards. Interns will play a key role in guiding field trips, supporting summer camps, and creating meaningful, interactive learning experiences that inspire curiosity and connection to nature and the arts.

This internship is ideal for individuals seeking to build a strong foundation in education, environmental stewardship, and nonprofit work, while contributing to the Greenacres mission of fostering connections between people and the environment through education, research, and conservation.

Environment Education Internship

The Greenacres Environment Education Internship is a one-year, full-time paid position designed for individuals passionate about outdoor education and environmental interpretation. Interns work alongside experienced educators to lead school field trips, after-school programs, and summer camps, using the natural landscapes of forests, ponds, streams, and fields as dynamic classrooms. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and immersive teaching experiences, interns develop practical skills in informal education while inspiring students to connect with the environment. This internship includes benefits, offers career preparation in the nonprofit sector, and provides opportunities to work across multiple Greenacres locations in Ohio and Indiana.

Arts Education Internship

The Greenacres Arts Education Internship is a one-year, full-time paid position offering hands-on experience in arts-based education through school field trips, after-school programs, and summer camps. Interns work closely with experienced educators to deliver engaging visual and performing arts programming in inspiring settings, including historic spaces, curated gardens, and natural woodlands. Designed for those pursuing careers in visual arts, performing arts, art history, or museum studies, this internship provides mentorship, training, and career development within a mission-driven nonprofit. With opportunities to teach, learn, and grow, interns will help students explore creativity and connect with the arts in meaningful ways.
