Nature’s Classroom: Summer Ley Field Garden Picnic

Experience the enchantment of Nature’s Classroom! We welcome your family to join our garden team for an immersive evening picnic in the serene beauty of the Greenacres ley field.

As the sun begins to set, our team will guide you through the wonders of pre-industrial ley farming. Learn how this sustainable agricultural practice combines diverse plant species and animals to nurture soil health and foster ecological balance. Guests of all ages will learn about the benefits of crop rotation and other techniques that promote generative farming and support a resilient food system.

Please note that our Ley Field is a short hike up a small hill and some distance from the parking area. This is a working garden and farm so the terrain can be difficult for some.

Greenacres will provide a picnic style meal as part of this event. Please note that no outside food or beverage is permitted. 

Tickets are $20 per adult and $10 per child. Meals are included. Children 5 and under are free without a meal. If you wish to have a kids meal for your child under 5, please purchase a ticket that includes a meal. Tickets must be purchased online and no later than 5 days before the event date. Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich
A healthy sandwich featuring a boneless, skinless breast topped with roasted red peppers, red onion, mesclun baby greens and raspberry honey mustard. Includes a side of tomato cucumber salad and a linzer raspberry shortbread square. 

Vegetarian Roll Up
House-made hummus, fresh seasonal vegetables and black olives wrapped inside a fresh flour tortilla shell. Includes a side of tomato cucumber salad and a linzer raspberry shortbread square.
