Join us at Greenacres Lewis Township for a bird hike designed for beginner to intermediate birders. Beginners can learn to identify some common birds. More experienced birders will practice their skills in identifying by sight and sound. SUMMARY:First Responder Training
DESCRIPTION:[vc_section][vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”23561″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\nEquine & Livestock First Responder Training \nWhen an animal is in distress\, they can become frightened or panicked\, making it difficult to approach and help them. Our First Responder Training will provide the knowledge of how horses & livestock animals behave in stressful situations and how to safely handle them to ensure the best possible outcome for both the animals and the rescuers. This training is open to Police and Fire.  \nProgram Overview: \nTour of the barns\, understanding the different types of facilities in the area\, water sources & possible causes for barn fires; we will also discuss encounters First Responders have faced in the past or will potentially come across when dealing with equine or livestock; trailer accidents\, loose animals\, and stuck or trapped animals. Lunch will also be provided. \nHands on portion: \n\nLearn the basics of how horses & livestock (pigs\, cattle\, sheep) behave in a normal setting\nApproach & interact with the animals in normal clothes vs. dressed in full gear\nHow to catch and lead an animal with items you have access to (webbing\, belts\, ropes\, etc.)\n\n*If you plan to participate with full gear\, please make sure to bring your gear. \nEvent Timeline \n10:00-10:30 – Intro \n10:30-12:00 – Equine \n12:00-12:30 – Lunch (Provided by Greenacres) \n12:30-2:00- Livestock \nTickets must be purchased online\, due to limited capacity walk ins will not be accepted at this time. Please note that there are no refunds or exchanges available. For questions about this event\, please call 513.898.3256.
