Explore how livestock\, pollinators\, and other farm animals use sight\, smell\, hearing\, touch\, and taste to find food\, stay safe\, and interact with their environment. Through fun\, hands-on activities and exploration at Nippert Barn\, families will learn how understanding animal senses helps farmers provide thoughtful\, compassionate care. \nFamily Discovery Time is a child-focused educational program on a selected topic for children and their families. Literacy and hands-on experiences will be combined to cultivate curiosity and discovery on the farm. Please dress to be out on the farm in our pastures\, gardens\, and natural areas. We may encounter mud and evidence of our livestock. \nPlease note\, the activities are targeted for children ages 5 and up. Younger siblings should be able to enjoy the experience with more adult help. \nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\nAdmission: $1 per person\nRegistration is required for all attendees\nChildren (ages 5–17) must be accompanied by a registered adult\nTickets must be purchased in advance\, and due to limited capacity\, walk-ins will not be accepted\nNo strollers permitted due to trail conditions\n\n\n\n\n\nWeather Policy\nThis event will take place rain or shine. As the hike continues into the gardens\, discover what’s still growing in autumn and learn how food production continues even as the seasons change. \nThere’s plenty to see\, explore\, and learn along the way\, making this a fun fall adventure for the whole family. Whether you’re spotting wildlife\, meeting livestock\, exploring the trails\, or simply enjoying the changing colors\, the Fall Farm Hike is a chance to get outside\, get curious\, and experience Greenacres in a new season. \nPlease dress appropriately for spending time outdoors. The hike will travel through natural areas\, pastures\, and gardens\, and guests may encounter mud\, uneven terrain\, and evidence of our livestock.
