Invasive plants can threaten biodiversity\, disrupt ecosystems\, and diminish the beauty of natural landscapes. Understanding how to properly manage these plants is a critical step in protecting the health of our local environment. This series will provide participants with knowledge and hands-on experience to identify\, control\, and restore areas affected by invasive species. Participants will gain valuable insights into the ecological impact of invasive species and learn how small\, consistent efforts can make a big difference in restoring native habitats. \nEach session will combine classroom learning with guided field hikes\, offering participants hands-on experience identifying\, controlling\, and restoring areas impacted by invasive species. Greenacres Land Management and Research staff\, along with the Trees & Trails Foundation\, will guide attendees through the process of invasive plant management\, providing practical tools and strategies to apply on their own properties. \nThis series is for adults aged 18 and older and will take place rain or shine. \nTime: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM \nLocation: Spooky Hollow Farm – 8500 Spooky Hollow Rd\, Cincinnati\, OH 45242 \nCost: Tickets are $5 per session and include light snacks and refreshments. \nWhen purchasing tickets\, select a ticket for every session you would like to attend and then proceed to checkout. You must purchase a ticket for each session individually—buying a ticket for one session does not grant access to another session. \n\n\nWorkshop Sessions\nSession 1 – Invasive Plant Identification\nWednesday\, April 23\nLearn to identify common invasive plants found throughout Indian Hill and southwestern Ohio. This session will provide an overview of how Greenacres manages natural areas to promote plant and wildlife diversity\, with insights into the efforts of Trees & Trails within the community. A guided hike will give participants the chance to practice identification in the field. \nSession 2 – Invasive Plant Control\nWednesday\, July 30\nDiscover integrated pest management strategies and the tools available for controlling invasive plants. This session will cover specific management techniques for the most common invasive plants in the area. Participants will review identification skills and observe areas where invasive plant control efforts have been implemented. \nView Event\nSession 3 – Monitoring and Restoration\nWednesday\, September 17\nExplore goal setting and monitoring techniques for restoration projects. Learn how to increase native plant diversity on your property and maintain restored areas. The Arts at Greenacres Foundation include the visual and performing arts. \nThe Greenacres Foundation Artist Weekend is an annual three-day opportunity for members of Greater Cincinnati’s visual and performing arts communities (Age 18+). This weekend pulls inspiration from Greenacres’s historic architecture\, nearby forests\, and farmland for artists to develop their skills. \nGreenacres is excited to open the Arts Center to 25 artists (Ages 18+) who reside in the greater Cincinnati area for an exciting and innovative weekend of arts engagement. This three-day event is ideal for students and local artists looking to nurture connections and develop skills. The weekend consists of idea-sharing sessions\, roundtable discussions\, retreat and relaxation sessions\, and access to both indoor and outdoor spaces to create at your own speed. Participants will be able to spend time in and around the fairytale-like setting of the Arts Center. Our First Responder Training will provide the knowledge of how horses & livestock animals behave in stressful situations and how to safely handle them to ensure the best possible outcome for both the animals and the rescuers. This training is open to Police and Fire.  \nProgram Overview: \nTour of the barns\, understanding the different types of facilities in the area\, water sources & possible causes for barn fires; we will also discuss encounters First Responders have faced in the past or will potentially come across when dealing with equine or livestock; trailer accidents\, loose animals\, and stuck or trapped animals. The Celebration Concert started as a 100th birthday celebration for Mrs. Louise Dieterle Nippert\, and continues as a celebration of her memory\, legacy\, and continued support of the Cincinnati arts scene. The performance will take place in the Grand Tent at the Greenacres Arts Center and will last for approximately 1 hour.\n \nTickets\nThere are three types of tickets for this year’s Celebration Concert. We will have VIP tickets\, Grand Tent General Admission\, and Tented Lawn General Admission.  \nVIP Tickets – $100\nWith the purchase of a VIP ticket\, you get an exclusive cocktail hour in the gorgeous gardens of the Greenacres Arts Center from 5:30pm-6:30pm. During this time you can enjoy passed appetizers\, an open bar\, early access to seat selection\, and a photo opportunity with John Morris Russell\, conductor of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. We will explore the plant and animal species living in this area and discuss the prairie establishment process.   \nPlease dress for the weather including sunscreen\, hat\, and bug spray if desired. Each course will be paired with a specially-selected wine from Oakley Wines. \nTo compliment the sights of our summer garden\, we recommend dressing in your Garden Party best! \nCocktail hour begins at 5:30 pm. She believes there is a kind of specialness to food and wine that can really only be described by experiencing it. How we discover new flavors we’ve never had before\, how they continue to develop and change once a bottle has been opened\, how we share and learn about the people we’re with over passed plates and filled glasses.
