DESCRIPTION:[vc_section][vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”22397″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Join  Greenacres for a Spring Ewe/Lamb Workshop and lunch. This workshop is for sheep and small ruminant livestock producers to prepare for Spring lambing season and starting the grazing season. The workshop will focus on Gestation Nutrition\, Preparing Lambing Facilities\, Health and Nutrition and a Pasture Walk. Registration is free however\, we ask that you RSVP by April 15th. \nAn optional FAMACHA Training with Cora Reinbolt is available at 1:30pm after the main workshop ends. Use of the FAMACHA system allows small ruminant producers to make deworming decisions based on an estimate of the level of anemia in sheep and goats\, which is an indicator of clinical worm infection. This training will cost $30 and is 2 hours long. \nThe event is hosted by Greenacres Foundation\, at Michaela Farm\, Oldenburg\, Indiana. Learn about the process of making maple syrup in the past and the present. This program is suitable for school-aged children ages 5 and above. We will take a short hike in our sugar bush\, you will be able to try your hand at drilling a tap hole and visit the evaporator as we learn about the process of sap becoming syrup. Join us at Greenacres Old Church for a bird hike designed for beginner to intermediate birders. Beginners can learn to identify some common birds. More experienced birders will practice their skills in identifying by sight and sound.
