He earned his PhD in Kinesiology as an ESPEN Fellow from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\, and received training at the Washington University in St Louis School of Medicine and Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. van Vliet’s research is performed at the nexus of agricultural and human health. From collecting eggs to tending to our pastures\, there is always something to do on the farm!  \nChildren’s Discovery Time is a child-focused educational program on a selected topic for children and their families to experience Greenacres Farm at Nippert Barn. Literacy and hands-on experiences will be combined to cultivate curiosity and discovery on the farm. Please dress to be out on the farm in our pastures\, gardens\, and natural areas. We may encounter mud and evidence of our livestock.  \nPlease note\, the activities are targeted for 5 years old and up.
